QUETTA: Hundreds of official and private telephone lines were disconnected as a PTCL phone cabinet blown up in a powerful bomb explosion at Zarghoon road on Thursday.

The blast occurred close to the Circuit House situated in high profile area. Governor House, Chief Minister House, residences of Chief Secretary, IG Police and many ministers were located at the Zarghoon road where heavy contingent of police remain present round the clock.

Sources said that unknown militants planted local made bomb in the telephone cabinet that went off with high intensity rocking the city.

After the blast police cordoned off the area.

Hundreds of phones were disconnected after the blast, including important government connections.

Sources in PTCL said that the engineers and other staff started installing new cabinet to restore phone connections. 'We are trying our level best to restore the connections in minimum time,' PTCL officials said.
