PESHAWAR: The death toll from Wednesday’s blast in Peshawar has now risen to 111, while many of the injured remain in critical condition. Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Railway Ghulam Bilour says we should not blame our neighbours for such attacks and try to control the situation internally.

On Wednesday, a huge explosion shook the city’s Meena bazaar, a marketplace frequented by women. Although the Taliban have not taken responsibility for this attack, traders at the market say they had received several threats because women were allowed to shop at the bazaar.

The car bomb explosion sparked a deadly blaze that soon engulfed more than a dozen shops, spreading rapidly across the market.

Before fire fighters could reach the scene, the fire had already gutted a number of shops, causing buildings to collapse. — DawnNews
