NEW DELHI: India on Thursday denied any role in Pakistan’s difficulties with the Balochistan Liberation Army and said the accusation by a senior official in Islamabad did not deserve a response.

‘These are entirely baseless allegations and we see no reason to dignify them with a response,’ an Indian foreign ministry spokesman said.

He was responding to a question on allegations made by Interior Adviser Rehman Malik that India was supporting BLA.

Malik claimed in the Senate on Wednesday that the BLA was raised with funding from the Soviet Union (during the Afghan war) and it was now backed by India.
