QUETTA: Balochistan Jammat-i-Islami general secretary Abdul Matin Akundzada has accused government for mismanagement in the relief work of earthquake areas in Ziarat.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Sunday he also alleged that army and Frontier corps were providing substandard items to the survivors instead of real relief goods.
He asserted that international agencies and domestic social organizations have sent huge quantity of goods for the earthquake victims but the poor survivors did not receive any owing to government mismanagement.
Matin Akundzada demanded of the government to make the relief work distribution process transparent so that needy persons should be provided the goods.
He claimed that government decision to provide Rs. 300000 to per family for rehabilitation was not enough and stressed to increase the amount to Rs. 500000.
He stated that though the government has announced the funds for rehabilitation of the victims but without comprehensive programme the objective could not be achieved.
Jammat-i-Islami leader said that the main problem of the survivors was the provision of the warm tents as in the severe cold the people could not live in the ordinary tents.
