QUETTA: A shutter-down and wheel-jam strike is being observed in Balochistan as part of continuing protests against the killing of three Baloch leaders in Turbat.

Angry protestors burnt tyres, chanted slogans and blocked the traffic at Hub, as well as that between Karachi and Balochistan, DawnNews reports.

Shops and markets in different towns of the province are closed, and roads in Quetta are almost deserted.

Police are patrolling in the city to ensure peace during the strike.

The Baloch National Front had called the strike against the killing of BNM Chief Ghullam Muhammad Baloch, Lala Munir and Sher Muhammad Baloch.

The strike call was endorsed by other nationalist groups as well.

BNF workers have blocked the road at Mach, disrupting traffic between Quetta and other parts of Balochistan.

However, no untoward incident has been reported from any part of the province.
