ISLAMABAD: Norway on Thursday ordered its embassy in Islamabad to close for at least two days for security reasons, a foreign ministry spokeswoman said.
‘Based on the developments in the general security situation, Norway has decided to close its embassy in Islamabad Thursday 2 July and Friday 3 July,’ Ragnhild Imerslund told AFP.
Imerslund declined to specify the developments and say whether the Norwegian embassy had received specific threats. The decision was taken on Wednesday night. She also did not say whether the embassy would reopen next week, saying they ‘are constantly reviewing the situation.’
