KARACHI: The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources has decided that there will be no increase in CNG prices and no load shedding of gas for CNG stations during winter season.

This was stated by the Chairman CNG Station Owners Association of Pakistan (CSOAP) Malik Khuda Baksh here Monday, on his return from Islamabad after holding a meeting with the top bosses of the ministry and other stakeholders.

Malik Khuda Baksh said that he had held meetings with Secretary Petroleum, Director General Gas and Managing Director, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and informed them about the impact of gas price increase and load shedding of gas on CNG industry and common people.

He said that the authorities concerned have considered the genuine problems while taking the decision.

It may be noted that the CNG stations’ association had threatened to close down CNG stations all over the country if the government implemented the proposal of SNGPL to shut down gas supplies to CNG filling stations for three months.

Meanwhile, Malik Khuda Baksh has welcomed the decision and said that the common people of Pakistan will also welcome this popular and compassionate decision.

He said that the decision will also encourage investors to inject more money in the CNG business.—APP
