KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Industries and Commerce Rauf Siddiqui announced on Monday that the federal government is likely to announce 10-year tax holiday for setting up agro-based industries in the interior of Sindh.

He further said that industrial zones uplift projects worth Rs2 billion would be completed in a record time in the province.

Briefing media in his office, he said that the government would allow private sector to set up power units up to 200MW instead of 50 MW.

He said earlier the provincial governments were authorised to sanction power projects up to 50MW.  He said that the government was also working for development of modern infrastructure at Site Nawabshah.

Apart from the on-going projects, six new projects worth Rs165 million are being initiated next week, which would be completed within six months, says a press release.
