KARACHI: Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has completed the procurement of 600,000MT of urea fertiliser for ‘Rabi season’ by awarding a contract to the lowest bidder for the supply of 75,000 metric tons of urea at $296.87 per metric ton on Cost & Freight basis.
A TCP source said here Friday that the tender was floated on October 14, and bidding was held on October 22, 2009 at corporation’s head office.
M/s Trans Amonia of Switzerland was the lowest bidder.
A total of six contestants had offered C & F prices ranging between $296.87 and $303.50 per tonne, the source said.
He said that the first ship carrying 25,000MT of urea from the awarded quantity for ‘Rabi season’ will be berthing at the Gawadar Port on October 25, 2009.
Meanwhile, TCP has nearly completed the import of 550,000MT of urea for Kharif season as a total of 536,856MT of urea has reached the country and a ship with the remaining quantity is on its way.—APP
