Palm oil imports undergo significant decline

ISLAMABAD: Imports of palm oil into the country decreased by 32.99 per cent during the first three months of current financial year as against the imports recorded during the corresponding period of last year.

 

Palm oil imports were recorded at $253.373 million during July-Sept, 2009-10 as against the imports worth $419.188m registered last year, according to figures released by the FBS.

 

Palm oil imports during the month of Sept, 2009 declined by 10.10pc as compared to the imports made in August.

 

Imports of the oil in August, 2009 were recorded at $86.848 million as against $96.603 million recorded in the same month last year. As compared to palm oil imports of $168.017m during September of last financial year, imports during same month this year declined by 48.31pc.—APP
