Poet’s corner
Why happiness is too far away to chase,
No one is happy in any case.
No one is ready to help others,
Everyone is concerned with themselves.
I wish a peaceful country with caring people,
Where happiness resides forever and ever.

Snow
Soft white slippery snow,
Better than a playing dough,
Down the hill goes our sled,
Bum-pity-bump goes our head,
Have fun and just go,
Don't listen to mum,
If she says "no, no."

A beautiful place
This world is an ominous place,
Where everything is at blaze.
Hatred and enmity is at raise,
I wish to escape from this world,
And reside in a prestigious place.
Where hopes never shatter,
And jubilance ever splatters.
Where hard work does not go frivolous,
Where every moment spent is auspicious.
Where dreams are fulfilled,
And voices are never shrilled.
Where there is beauty in nature.
Where animals talk and express their passions,
Mitigate us from all our tensions.
Where fairies fly and stars shine.
I wish to reside in that world.

Moon
The moon gives us light,
In the dark night.
I like the moon,
It is absent in the afternoon.
The silver light gives us pleasure.
The moon is very shiny,
And looks very tiny.
It is a companion for us,
As it shows the way in the night.

Life
Like a river which flows,
Like a rain which falls.
Will the river keep flowing?
Will the rain keep falling?
Like the beauty of your face,
And the hair on your head,
Is this beauty everlasting?
The answer is my friend,
In the world of joy and sorrow,
Wealth and poverty,
Nothing is everlasting
Have you ever thought that
Neither the flowing river,
Or the falling rain,
Nor the beauty of your face is everlasting.
The life is unpredictable my friend,
Stay content, stay happy!

I love books
I have many colourful books,
All have different looks.
They are full of knowledge,
And of interesting topics.
Amazing facts they hold.
Useful they are,
Reading them makes us successful.
Don’t think of them as futile,
As they make us visit many places miles away.
Some are heavy, some are light,
When reading makes me busy,
My brother fights.
Some books are expensive, some are cheap,
When I lose them, I weep.
I always buy books myself,
And keep them safe in a wooden shelf.
Books are the best friends,
Friendship with them never ends.

The dream
Last night I saw a dream,
It was really a strange dream.
I dreamt of climbing a mountain,
In the snowy Himalayan range.
Then I saw myself in my school,
The teachers were teaching us to fly.
I was really very shocked,
When I saw children with wings to fly.
Then, I saw we had turned into ducks,
We quacked and quacked and had fun.
But then the dream turned awful,
How scary it was!
When we were torn to bits,
By a cat with sharp claws!
Suddenly, I woke up from this really strange dream,
But then again I went to sleep,
Now I dreamt of having an ice cream cup…

A beautiful toy
My cousin got me a beautiful toy.
It could sing, it could dance,
And sometimes it gave me a
friendly glance.
It was colourful, it was cute,
But it didn’t like the fruit.
My cousin called it ‘leaf’,
Because it loved plants and all the trees.
It always stayed in the cupboard,
And didn’t eat its supper.
It loved to sing,
But still can’t sing the song I like.

Books
Books, books all the books,
They are of different types
In variety of topics.
They carry different information,
And give us loads of knowledge.
Books are our best friends,
And come in variety of subjects.
Like geography, art and English,
Maths, history and science.
Books tell us about animals and the birds,
And tell us what is there in the universe.
