Exploring the world of Scorpions

By Sindhya Chaudhry

Ambitious, determined, sincere and honest are our Scorpions. They have a goal to achieve and do not like to waste time in unnecessary and stupid things.

Positive and negative traits

Scorpions are brave, bold and courageous. They are not afraid of hard work and obstacles do not frighten them. Scorpions have a strong will power and they will struggle until they have achieved what they aimed for. Although Scorpions seem unchanging and firm, they are loving, caring and gentle from within. A Scorpion believes in faithfulness in every relationship.

Scorpion is the one who sticks to his/her principles and will not deter from a path he/she believes is right. Scorpions have an extraordinary ability i.e. they can achieve for themselves and for those whom they love. They have a constructive and a creative mind. They have observant, understanding minds and obstacles seem to spur them on. They have uncountable strengths and different types of challenges bring them out.

Scorpions sometimes become very sensitive. They think that no one understands them or recognises their true worth. They think that nobody needs them or loves them, sometimes they can be proud or arrogant or other times sly and hateful. Some Scorpions are very emotional and some will seek revenge from anyone who they think has done injustice to them. They do not care what others feel and have a sudden violent temper.

Health

Scorpio governs the liver and kidneys and tends to suffer from disease such as stones in the bladder, genitals; abscesses, boils, carbuncles, fistulas, piles, ruptures and ulcers may also affect the Scorpions.

In relationship

Scorpios have a dark and mysterious style of loving i.e. if they love a person they will not show. For Scorpios, emotions run deep, and their faculty of intuition is remarkably accurate, so their antenna can pick out a prospective partner at first sight. They need, however, to keep their private or personnel lives separate and take out time for both. Scorpios can be excessively bossy in personal relationships. Their biggest problem is finding someone who, while strong enough to maintain a passionate lifestyle, is interesting enough to remain a challenge. Once they find the right person they will remain together for life.

Compatibility

Scorpio goes with Taurus, Cancer and Virgo. The best match for Scorpio is Capricorn. These two can’t only understand one another extremely well, but also can actually match sensitivities and emotions, almost (if not actually) on a spiritual level. A very long lasting relationship, these two seldom break up. Their togetherness is for a lifetime or maybe more than that.

The worst match for Scorpio is Aries. The somewhat possessive Scorpio will never go for the ‘love them and leave them’ attitude that Aries sometimes seems to display. It’s not that Aries are immoral; it is just that they give this impression too often to get along for great periods with the Scorpio. Also, the ‘depth’ of Scorpio is somewhat unfamiliar to Aries.

Basic facts

Planet Mars governs Scorpio. It symbolises force, fury, wildness, cruelness, angriness and aggressiveness. On the other hand, Mars means courage and guts, energy and ideas. Seems like they tend to enjoy both sides of the coin! These people are included in the water group and have stored a flood of emotions and rich imagination in them.

Their lucky numbers are 3, 8, 17, 26 and 35; lucky day is Tuesday and lucky colours are red rose, crimson red, blood red, and burgundy red. Ruby, Garnet, Bloodstone, Topaz and Basil, Heather, Chrysanthemum are the stones and herbs associated with this sign.

Ideal jobs

Scorpions are well suited for careers as doctors, investigators, ecologists, managers, engineers, navigators and secret agents.

Famous Scorpions

Marie Antoinette, Bill Gates, Christopher Columbus, Prince Charles, Goldie Hawn, Roberto Goizueta, Sally Field, Joni Mitchell, Marie Curie, Martin Luther King, Theodore Roosevelt, Lorne Michaels, Picasso, Indira Gandhi, Alan Shepard, Katerine Hepburn and Viven Leigh.
