Hi kids!

Why do I see such gloomy faces? Oh, so you are unhappy because the vacation is over and the schools have reopened. That’s no reason to be unhappy. You have enjoyed more than two months away from school and studies and it is time you got back to business.

Most children feel uneasy when the schools reopen after a long vacation. This is because they have fallen into a new schedule of leisure and freedom and find it difficult reverting to the same old routine of getting out of bed early and rushing off to school. Yes, I know waking up early is the worst part of going to school for many children. Then, as soon as the schools start, homework and tuitions, for some, come along, with many students complaining that they find little time for anything else except studies.

But look at the positive side. These are your precious years on which depend your entire career and your future. How well you do in studies would pave the way for your success in achieving your dreams later in life. In the process you learn many exciting, new things and gain much knowledge.

Besides, you also get to meet your friends and teachers with whom you may not have been in touch all through the vacation. If you have changed schools you get to make new friends and meet new teachers. Then there are the new books, which invite you to go through them even before studies have picked up tempo. And, what to talk of the accessories like the new uniform, the new pencil case, the new bag and the new lunch box and water bottle? A whole lot of new goodies have to be bought not only to meet your needs but also to use and cherish, along with the notes of what you did and did not do during the vacation.

So, no need to grumble and make faces. A lot is waiting for you at school.

See you next week.

Bye!

Ed
