Once upon a time, in a little basket was born a little kitten named Timmy. His little mistress loved him so, that’s why she always made sure he remained in the basket and on no account left the house.
That’s exactly what caused Timmy to want to go out on the roads and explore. He, by no means, wanted to live a boring life like his sisters. All day he sat on the window sill, watching wild cats wander, digging in the mud, climbing walls and teasing the big wild dog across the street. He used to meow his throat out, trying to tell her mistress that he wanted to go out and enjoy his life instead of sitting here in the basket all day long. But he was never successful, so he decided to run away!
He didn’t tell anyone about his decision, so when one day his little mistress forgot to close the door, he silently crept out of the nursery. He sneaked across the lounge, and tiptoed through the kitty door. At last he was out of the “prison”. Once he got out he was overjoyed, he decided to go to the house his mistress took him to stay with other cats, while she went out of town. He knew the way perfectly; he had various trips to the place.
There was going to be a storm, which Timmy knew nothing of. He kept going in the dead of the night, still not aware of the dark clouds above him. Then all of a sudden, there was a plop! Timmy swiftly hid under a bush nearby. That’s when he realised that it was raining intensely! He lost his nerve and started running speedily, without delay. He stopped when he was under a shelter. He let out a sigh of relief, thanked God that nothing had happened to him. That’s when he came across a huge stone. He felt relaxed as the idea of sleeping upon the stone hit him.
When he mounted the stone, he sensed a slight movement. Gradually, the stone changed its position! The juvenile cat did not comprehend. It could not have been an earthquake since nothing else moved. What on Earth could be happening? That is when the poor creature realised that he had been sitting on the big, wild dog! He had no choice! All he could do was run back home at high speed and that’s exactly what he did! He made a huge jump and fled for his life! He ran, ran and ran, little by little losing his swiftness. Soon he would reach his safe and cosy house, oh how he was regretting running away!
Now, all he wanted was the chase to be over and him to be home peacefully. Finally, Timmy saw the door of his house and he saw the wild dog gaining on him. He ran for the kitty door and slid through it. Yes, yes, he had made it; he had survived the big wild dog! Now all he had to do was to sneak in the basket without his mistress and his mother knowing. He crept in the door, which was fortunately left open. He slid in the basket and snuggled in his mothers arms. She felt him move and licked him, giving a warm smile. Timmy grinned, and dozed off.
