Young World

July 21, 2007

Hi kids,

When is it coming? What will happen? Will Harry Potter die? These and similar questions were on the minds of most of you for quite some time. The anticipation of what will happen in the last book took centre stage as the launch time drew nearer. It seemed that the whole world was gripped by the excitement of the release of the last book in the series. To add to the excitement was the news of the release of the latest movie. It’s not just the children but adults as well have been following the child wizard through his years at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Those who were too young to read the first books made sure to read them later to fully understand the story, or should I say the world of Harry Potter.

The enchanted world that Rowling created will probably continue to entice the readers for a long time to come. Even those who grew up reading fairy tales think that there is no comparison between all those fantasy stories and Harry Potter. Probably Rowling herself had not imagined the overwhelming response she received when she wrote the first book. During the past ten years, since the first book was released, the series has sold more than 300 million copies. The books have been translated into more than 60 languages, and Rowling is the first person to become a billionaire from writing books.

Now with the launch of the movie last week and the book today (some of you might have got your copy by now) you have your hands full and are sure to have a good time during the next few days.

Enjoy the book and the movie and have fun.

Bye!

Ed
