Poets’ corner

What should I do today
Should I play with my train
Should I fly a plane
Should I pat my cat
Should I play with my bat
Should I go to Spain
Should I play in the rain
Should I catch a rat
Should I wear a hat
Should I play with my drum
Should I chew a gum
As I sat there dreaming
I heard my mother screaming:
”It’s time to go to bed
In five minutes,” she said.

I wish
I wish I could go to Harry Potter world
And fly on the hippogriff to kill the evil lord
I wish I had a good and graceful pet
Which my parents will never let
I wish I could travel the world without any money
And see different things which are funny.
I wish i had a Pokemon like Pikachu
But it should not evolve in to Raichu
I wish i hade a Beyblade like Dranzer
Which would even break a rocket launcher
I wish that all my wishes come true
To be specific my Beyblade Dranzer should be blue.

Dreams
Not all dreams come true
Not every face can glow
Not a picture can show
The realistic thoughts
But!
A kind word spoken
The skin deep beauty
And the inspiration to get
Something
May glow the heart
May give you a fine picture
And may give you the success
Before your dreams come true

My Mother
My mum is a mum,
Sweeter than a bubblegum.
Her love is a love,
Better than a peaceful dove.
Her hairs are hairs,
Softer than a teddy bear’s.
Her eyes are eyes,
Sharper than a spy's.
And
Her smile is a smile,
Prettier than a girl's style.

So many good moments come in my mind,
Whenever I speak your name,
After the day you weren’t anymore in my life,
My life's round circle has totally changed.
I had so many good times when I had you,
Now, those times have turned to bad,
I miss you so much when I think about you,
This makes me very sad.
I remember when dad scolded me,
And you came to wipe my tears,
I remember your warm soft cuddles,
When you hugged me when I was in tears.
Whenever I failed in any field,
You always advised and loved me
Whenever I misbehaved with you,
You never ever got angry.
I wanted you to see me become a teenager
But before that you were gone,
I wanted to see your bright, lovely, smiling face,
When I got the first position in my class.
You always taught me to tell the truth,
And advised me never to lose my heart,
You always helped me when I was in difficulty,
But never helped me to cheat.
Everyday in my life,
I pray to God to have you back,
But when no reply comes,
I really miss you and start to cry.
I thank God for those who have their moms,
I pray for them never to have this bad moment,
But my lovely Mom, always remember this,
I will always love you and no one can take your place.

Result day
Result day is here! Result day is here!
We shiver with fright for doomsday is near!
On this day everyone will receive their just rewards,
Whether it is pass or fail, they have earned these awards;
Happiness and tears are bound on this day,
Those who have achieved their goals, feel very gay;
Those who have slacked in their exams,
Must indeed shed tears and start over again,
So I am warning you beforehand;
Study hard for your exams,
If not, relive those days all over again.
Isra Ashraf.
