Once upon a time in a poor village lived a little girl called Limy and a little boy named Roger. Poor Limy was an orphan and lived with her grand Pa who was a very nice man and used to work all day and night and yet at the end of the week he would get just $3 to $4 to feed himself and his grand daughter.
Roger was Limy’s best friend; he was a nice and a kind boy. He used to live with his parents; they were also poor but not as poor as Limy, as Roger’s father, used to work in a shop and made enough money for them to lead a reasonable life.
One day Roger came running to Limy shouting, “Limy! Limy!” Limy asked totally surprised, “What? What happened?”
“I have got some very good news and some bad news. What would you like to listen to first — the good news or the bad news?”
“Ammm…” said Limy thinking, “I think I’d first like to hear the good news.”
“OK!” Said Roger, “then listen, the good news —- a young man wearing good clothes has come to our village and is shouting hotdog! Hotdog! There is something written on his pocket but I can’t tell what as you know that I have just studied alphabets but can’t make words out of them yet.
“OK, fine now tell me what were the alphabets written on his pocket?” asked Limy.
“They were H, O, T, D, O, G. Means …. Means what?”
“This means that he is that man …. Oh yes! Yes he is, he is … He is that man,” said Limy excitedly.
“Who is he?” aaid Roger, getting impatient.
“Remember yesterday, yesterday we asked Mr John about that poster remember.” “Yeah …. I remember I remember! It’s so exciting! Oh! …. Oh now what are we waiting for. Let’s go!”
“Oh yeah!”
“You were telling me about that bad news what was that?” asked Limy on the way to the Hotdog man.
“Yeah actually our secret acid has been stolen.”
“What? Oh no!” Said Limy as she pulled a face.
“Well! Just forget it now Limy first let’s go to that poster man.”
“Well Ok!” Limy agreed.
Limy and Roger rushed to where the Hotdog man was. He was surrounded by lots of people. “Oh Gosh, excuse me, please excuse, and excuse us? Aaah! What a crowd!” Said Limy.
“Yeah, well that’s true,” said Roger.
“Well I don’t think we can meet him in such a crowd,” said Limy.
“Mee too…” said Roger looking very tired.
“Let’s go home,” said Limy.
“Nno! No! let’s go to our secret lab,” said Roger. “Oooyaaa! You’re right we should go there and find out where that acid disappeared.” “Com’on let’s go!”
Limy and Roger went to their secret lab but they didn’t find anything there. “Oh! Now I am really very tired,” said Limy, “Roger, how could you have been so careless?”
“I am sorry…” said Roger, “yeah but I remember the last time I saw Maxio here.”
“But Roger, you know that he is also our friend. But you’re right he is the only person who knows about our secret lab. Now don’t look at me like that go and call him. Go!” said Limy.
In a few minutes Roger came in with Maxio. “Maxio could you please tell me if you ever saw anyone else in the lab?” asked Limy.
“Inside or outside?” asked Maxio.
“Maxio! Anyone, anywhere?”
“Yeah! Well, that new person who came to our village.”
“You mean that person who has come from the city?” asked Limy a little surprised.
“Yes! Yes! That person…”
“Where outside or inside?” Limy was getting impatient.
“First I saw him outside then inside,” said Maxio innocently.
Limy was furious “— you didn’t tell us about this.”
“I am really sorry Limy but I couldn’t do anything at that time because my mother was calling and if I would try to stop him then my mother would ask me where I was and she’d be really mad. So I am sorry ….”
Limy, Roger and Maxio went out to find that hotdog man. As the night set in they got really tired but they could not find the man. At last Limy said, “Well, there is one last place where we can still try to find him.”
“Is there any place left? Are you mad Limy!” said Maxio totally disgusted.
“Roger do you remember Mr John whom we asked about that poster on his shop,” Limy said ignoring Maxio’s distress.
“Yeah! Yeah! Yeaah! We can ask him,” said Roger.
Limy, Maxio, and Roger arrived at Mr John’s shop. “Oh! Hello! Limy, hello Roger! Oh! Maxio is also here! Hello Maxio!”
“Hello Mr John!” said three of them together. “Mr John! Mr John! Do you know where that poster man is now?” asked Limy.
“Oh you mean that hotdog man,” said Mr John.
“Hotdog man,” repeated Roger thinking of his terrible name.
“Actually I know what you are talking about, your poster man and my hotdog man left our village in the evening at 5 o’clock,” said Mr John.
“What! Oh my,” said Limy to Mr John. “Are you sure Mr John.”
“Oh yes! My dear children, don’t you know!”
Limy looked very disappointed and the children walked away. The children looked disappointed but did not lose hope. At last breaking the long silence Roger said, “The L, R, M team can never lose and will never drown, and don’t worry we will find him.” Then the three of them laughed hilariously and went home. The next morning Limy and Roger went out for a morning walk. They were totally surprised when they heard about a lot of people falling ill after eating the delicious hotdog sold by that man.
After a week Limy and Roger decided to go to Hapel City, the place from where the dubious hotdog man had come. They were a little frightened as the huge city was very noisy as compared to their village.
At last Limy and Roger found the hotdog man selling hotdogs in a mall. The two children ran right away and informed the police before confronting him. The police came and confiscated his stall and arrested him. The hotdogs that the man was selling were sent to a lab to be tested. It was found that the man had added acid to the snack to kill people and the reason for which was not known. He was a psychopath that the police was looking for and so Limy and Roger were awarded a prize of $5,000. The children were very happy and thus with the money tried to make their lives comfortable and lived happily ever after.
