The witches’ party

By Hafsa Rehan

Halloween is a very special time for witches. Snitchy was holding a western witches annual Halloween convention at the ballroom of a haunted house.

Witches from far and wide were invited to attend the party. Snitchy went out shopping to buy grocery. She bought two newts, three frogs a bag of snails, a tin of slug juice, one rat’s tail and a bag of mixed spiders.

The next day the witches were zooming on their broomsticks at Snitchy’s haunted house. At lunch time vast tables were laid with food she had prepared.

The greedy witches rushed towards the slug cakes, piles of spider sandwiches and bowlfuls of toad and toe nail ice cream. The witches hollered and screamed and jumped up and down clutching their shiny hair and beautiful gowns.

They also did magic on each other. When they were tired and had enjoyed to their hearts’ content they filled the sky riding on their brooms until dawn. At dawn, all of a sudden, the constant clamour came to a halt and silence filled the air as all the witches vanished into thin air. i
