REVENGE — that’s what this movie is about. Eric is a heavy weight world champion and is on his way to Thailand to prove that to the Thaïs who have their own champ — Tong Po. Unfortunately this trip proves to be the end of Eric’s career. Tong Po is a brutal opponent who stabs Eric on the spinal cord thus paralysing his legs and confining him to the wheelchair forever. His younger brother, Kurt, vows revenge. He searches for a training school that would train him against Tong Po but they seem to make Kurt look like a lunatic to speak of such a fight.
So it is Taylor, an ex-army personnel, who helps introduce Eric to the only man crazy enough to push him into the ring with Tong Po — Xion, who is Taylor’s friend. Xion lives in a secluded small village and has long stopped teaching people “Muay Thai” (a unique fighting style in Thailand). However, Xion takes Kurt in and the training session begins. This session turns out to be humorous for the viewers and tough for Kurt. How he is made to run faster and how Xion teaches him to practice defensive techniques are funny. After a very tiring and injury-full training Kurt is ready to face Tong Po. But Tong Po fearing his defeat at the hands of Kurt adopts humiliating and gruesome techniques to pressurise Kurt mentally.
He kidnaps his brother Eric and threatens Kurt with Eric’s death, shall Kurt fail to deliver Tong Po his victory. Eric, however, is rescued by Xion and Taylor in a very fashionable manner. Relieved that his brother is safe, Kurt teaches Tong Po a hard-learnt lesson in his own unique 360 degrees flying kicks. Oh! And Kurt manages to find himself a girl friend — Myleu (Xion’s niece).
Haskell’s acting is remarkable as is Dennis Chan’s. Jean Claude as always, has the fighting scenes to his name more than dialogues. Light humour, stunning action and absorbing story line — qualities that shall not disappoint a seeker of varieties in action movies.
