The sweet little girl was upset. Since morning she had not been eating well and crying about little things. It was very unlike her as she was a girl of very sweet disposition. The whole family was upset because of her behaviour but could not understand the reason. As the day passed and the time for her and her mother came nearer to bid farewell to others at home and proceed to the airport, the child became gloomier as she knew she wouldn’t be able to see any of them for at least six months. Someone then realised that the child didn’t want to go but as she knew that she had no choice she acted in a strange way.
It is true that saying farewell to your loved ones is difficult. And this is true not only for children. Even grown-up people can be overcome by emotion. Many people get so upset that they never go to the airport or the station as they know they would break down in public.
When you are attached to someone you never feel like leaving them. Who would not like to live with loving people showering love at every step? But then there are times in life when you have to move on and leave your family and friends behind. It might be for your studies or a job or any other reason.
Thanks to modern technology, the world has turned into a global village and it is not difficult to remain connected while living thousands of miles away. Just imagine what it would have been like when there were no telephones or email and people had no means of knowing about the well-being of others except through letters which took days to reach from one place to another. Even then people did go abroad, leaving their loved ones behind. Aren’t you lucky that at least you can keep in touch?
