MUSIC: Masti
Ali Zafar, after the remarkable triumph of Huqa pani, has now come up with his second album Masti which has already stolen the media market and broke sale records within a week of its release.
Masti starts off with the moving and full of beat title song “Masti.” The song gets you bouncy ‘n’ energetic and you cannot stop yourself from moving onto the beat. “Dekha” is also a moving dance number which is composed on an Arabic beat that makes your belly move unconsciously.
It is followed by “Sajania” which is a “minglish” fusion number…the song is very catchy and sounds like the moving Indian dance tracks of the 70s. The next two sound tracks are really inspirational and motivating. “Jaanay na koi” describes the feelings of a stripling striving soul and all the dreams and targets that a youngster holds and tries to achieve through his own passionate efforts. “Aasman” is also a motivating song specially written and composed for the earthquake victims; the lyrics of the song are strong, rousing and full of hope. The guitars by Imran Akhund are brilliant adding an extra glint to the song. “Meray Haathon” is a slow romantic number that has a very peaceful and comforting effect on your ears and soul.
It is more like Ali’s previous hit “Jugnoonon sey bhar ley aanchal” which was liked a lot by his fans. The following track “Kharayaan day” is the essence of the album, written and composed by Yousuf Salahuddin. The lyrics are strong, the guitars, the percussions and Ali’s classical style of singing has brought the song to the first rate category. “Aag” is a fun, stirring and inspiring song describing how a youngster wants to spend his life… and must not be stopped from doing so. The album ends on the flute version of “Meray haathon” which makes the song even more soothing and romantic. The flute in it is admirably played by Baqir Abbas.
All in all, Ali Zafar’s Masti is full of different spices, moods and flavours. Ali has maintained his standard of music in his new album thus making it a must-listen…so what are you guys waiting for? Go and get your CD right now!
