Eid

Eid is a day full of fun and happiness
A day on which every one enjoys and forgets sadness.
Eidul Fitr has passed and now it’s Eidul Azha time
Again everyone will be busy and will not sleep at nine
Preparations have started many days before
Women want to do shopping more and more
Due to this, markets are fully crowded
Everyone wants to get whatever they want
Fathers get busy in buying cows and goats
While some will be worried as they have to spend many notes
Children get busy in feeding animals with fodder
As they want to enjoy with them before they get slaughter
On Eid morning men go to mosque for prayer
While women make food and roam here and there
Girls put Mehndi on their hands
They wear stylish dresses along with colourful bands
In the way of Allah, animals are sacrificed
Due to this good act from Muslims heart evil purifies
In the evening people get busy in meeting relatives
Children enjoys three days of Eid without going to school and colleges
With this fun and joy Eid day ends
Leaving behind many happy moments which people never want to end.

Eid is always a special occasion,
On which we all want to do renovation
On this day we all want to wear new dresses,
Along with their respective matching
Eid is a day of happiness and pleasure,
On this day our Eddi will be measured
We should not forget the Eid of poor peoples,
Who are unable to celebrate not even able to show
We should share our Eddi with those people and get pleasure,
From which Allah takes our measure.

Let’s all celebrate Eid,
Sow a true love’s seed,
Regardless of any cast or creed,
Free of any bias against brand or breed.
Let’s say Happy Eid,
Happily do that good deed,
Really vow to help in need,
And never to fight or bleed.
Let’s not forget to pledge,
To read a real love story’s page,
Say what we should do,
And do what we must improve.

New Year

New Year is beginning
Hope that it will bring happiness blasts and sizzling
With the New Year, every person has many hopes
Hope that their sadness will not remain any more.
2006 is ending, soon 2007 will start
God knows better it will be dull or smart.
I pray to God that may 2007 be a great success for all
May God accept this prayer, which is our call
Wishing you all a very “Happy New Year”
May this year make all of us glad and our life ways clear.

As the first ray of sun
Tore through the chillness of the morning
Making the dew on the grass
Shine like a jewel and then vanish
The chirping of birds made me smile
And realise the new big change
The crisp new sun over the horizon
Was giving the message of New Year
Bygone was the last year
With its sorrows and deceit
Now is the New Year
With new happiness and hopes
And the stamina for the worries to cope
New life, is the message, the New Year is giving.

When the new year starts;
The old one departs;
Leaving behind its memories,
And its cheerful ceremonies;
A New Year brings new hopes and resolutions;
New ideas and plans with great ambitions;
It brings a smile on our faces;
Even the winds sing its blues;
We welcome the New Year merrily;
Hoping its treatment in return positively;
Ah! The New Year’s thought makes me lively;
I feel like flying in the skies smoothly.

12 colours of life

A peaceful starting of a year without fury;
Comes along with the glamorous month of January
The shortest month coming next is February;
Running away, giving happy days in a hurry
Then comes a little summer touch in March;
All green leaves found, no sight of branch
April equal in age as January, the glamorous;
The beautiful flowers in it are marvellous
Oh! Then comes the greasy hottest May;
People found on beaches whole day
Then there is standing next, June;
Seems a friend of May with a summer tune
July has monsoon rainfall with rank seven;
The colourful month giving the touch of heaven
August carries the pleasure of July;
Birds on trees and clouds on sky
September seems a war month of our motherland;
I wish no war again, but a peaceful land
October has a melodious song of birds and flowers;
With dark nights and twinkling stars
November, Oh! My love has winter curled;
Birds singing peace and harmony in the world
December comes wrapped in snow;
Shiny stars at night, giving sky a glow
The end of a colourful year;
And the next is awaiting very near.

Disaster

The ground rumbles and groans
It shakes and breaks
The people are screaming
Running away
It looks like nature gone wild
The children cling to their parents for support
The parents themselves are afraid
All is lost, all is gone
All hell seems to break loose right now
The people all panic, all pray to God
To stop this disaster right now
It’s an earthquake, a disaster,
A complete monster.

God bless you!

I asked the Lord to bless you
As I prayed for you today
To guide you and protect you
As you go along your way....
His love is always with you
His promises are true
No matter what the tribulation
You know He will see us through
So, when the road you're travelling on
Seems difficult at best
Give your problems to the Lord
And God will do the rest.

The world of my dreams

A world where might not right is might,
A world where everyone has unsullied sight,
A world where angels like to dwell,
A world where every ones sight is swell,
A world where people are sweeter than berry,
A world where people sing the songs merry,
A world where everyone behave kindly,
A world where any one can be trusted blindly,
A world where peace-loving people prevail,
A world where sorrows and sadness bid farewell,
This is the world of my dreams.
This is the world of my dreams.

An ode to stupid poems

What is that I see, so pale and ghostly
A blot in the blue, a stain on the sky
Oh how pretty it is! Looks a bit like my dog’s head.
“My dear friend”, says Fathead the Fly
“You are thicker than sardines and jam on rye.
I think you left your brain sitting in bed.
That’s a cloud.”

The sky and the sea

Sea: The sun and the stars
Are the yellow painted chocolate bars
Sky: The calm sea is blue
It is always happy like you!
Sky: The stones and pebbles are black
I had collected many and put them in a sack
Sea: what are those fluffy-fluffy things?
Sky: These are the clouds, as pretty as golden rings!
Sea: what is this?
Sky: this is the moon,
Before hundred years
He had granted me a boon!
