What happens when on a Saturday you rush outside to collect the newspaper and find that the hawker has forgotten to deliver it? You get angry, and even sometimes throw a tantrum for not getting your magazine – though the people you are throwing tantrums at are not in the least to be blamed – and are agitated until your parents buy you the paper.
Have you ever realised how bad others feel when you forget to do something? For instance, how we feel when you forget to write your name and other required details on the story or article that you are sending for publication, or sometimes even forget the attachment? I’m not joking, that’s what happens. We receive so many empty emails that we sometimes don’t know whether to take it as some sort of practical joke or what. And that’s not all; some even blame us for discouraging young writers and killing the talent that’s oozing out of you.
I know the old adage “to err is human” and I accept that one can make mistake or forget something once in a while (no one is above that) but one has to be careful. Forgetfulness if not checked and taken care of becomes a habit and can sometimes create serious trouble for you. We can mail you back and ask you to resend your stuff though that is not always possible, and why should we when we have other careful contributors? Wouldn’t you do the same? You cannot expect others to care for you when you are yourself showing carelessness.
Please note: we will not in the future entertain any mail that does not have complete details of the sender. Take it as a warning and be careful the next time you write to us.
