Once upon a time in a small village lived a farmer. He had seven sons. One day the farmer fell seriously ill and died. After a few months his elder son found a bag full of gold coins. He was counting when his brother, who was younger, chanced upon him. They planned to distribute the coins equally among themselves. They divided the fortune in two portions; however, at the end one gold coin was left. While they thought of what to do the third brother came too and claimed his share. They again distributed the coins in three equal portions but again one golden coin was left. While they thought of what to do the fourth brother, the fifth brother and the sixth brother came one by one. They re-divided the coins again but each time one gold coin was left. Now the seventh brother came too and asked for his share. Once again the brothers distributed the coins equally. But surprisingly this time not a single coin was left. So what do you think dear friends how many coins were there in the bag?
Well, in the bag there were 301 gold coins. Each brother got 43 gold coins. Now take an in-depth view of the situation. The eldest brother found the bag full of 301 golden coins but when second brother came they distributed the coins equally amongst themselves each got 150 coins but one coin was left. When the third brother came they distributed them in three parts. Now each of the three brothers got 100 coins each. One coin was still left. When the fourth brother came and the coins were once again divided into four shares each got 75 coins. One was again left out. When their fifth brother came each got 60 coins. A single coin was left once again. When the sixth brother came each brother got 50 coins. Again one was left, but when seventh one came and the fortune was distributed yet once again all of them got 43 coins each. Now finally there was no coin left.
