Hi kids!

It’s the end of the holy month of Ramazan and next week we will be celebrating Eid – the festival for which you wait the whole year round. With just three ot four days left for Eid, your preparations must be in full swing. Irrespective of the heat and the roza, the unending trips to the bazaar are the most cherished activity these days for most of you. But there are many who try to complete their Eid shopping before Ramazan begins so that they don’t have to run around to get their things while they are fasting. It’s a personal choice depending on whatever is convenient.

Since most of your Eid shopping must have been completed by now, I hope you have not forgotten that you are not supposed to be extravagant and have to try to stay within your means. If you want something expensive or an extra dress or pair of shoes and your parents are reluctant to oblige, you have to realise that they have to consider their budget. You are young and can act on your whims but your parents have to keep a lot of things in mind. Besides your and your siblings’ clothes and shoes, they have other expenses to meet and they have to do everything within their means.

So be considerate if there is a constraint. Just look around and you will find many people who cannot even afford one new dress. No matter how much they want it, they will have to be content with the same old clothes. If you have even one new dress, aren’t you better off? Why compare yourself with those who have more than you, why not with those who have less? Try it once and you will find that you are a more content and happy person. It is always good to count your blessings than to be dejected by your limitations. Have a happy fun-filled Eid!

Bye!

Ed
