Should mobile phones be banned in school?

By Ghania Riaz

Mobile phones are the most ‘in’ thing among teenagers these days and people expect them to be banned. Come on, give me a break! A teenager in today's world cannot survive without a cell phone -- how can people even think of banning them, even if it is just in school?

These days’ teenagers have access to a lot of things via their cellphones like music, pictures, ring tones and videos which they like sharing with their friends. How will they be able to do that, if cellphones are not allowed in schools?

Most of the teenagers hope of owning the latest cellphones so that they can show off in the school among their friends. A number of them save a lot of pocket money for that, but, that becomes absolutely useless if they cannot show off around school! I think that after all, that is what teenagers are meant for: ‘showing off.’

As far as adults are concerned, they always want to come in between our fun. They always want to ruin our lives by restricting us and setting boundaries but then again, who cares?

Whatever these people say, no one can come between us and our fun. We have been taking our cellphones secretly to school, so let them say whatever they want. They can impose restrictions on us but we have always being living our lives our own way, and we will continue to do so!

This is the golden period of our life and we should live it the way we want to, and would not let anyone impose any restrictions on us. Peace!

(The point of writing this article was not to offend any body. These are just chilled out and light thoughts of today’s teenagers)
