Most of us are aware of the tension between the four provinces due to the Kalabagh Dam and the Balochistan issue. I want to remind everyone that we are all Pakistanis and it is our responsibility to work together. All these differences are created by selfish politicians and ignorant people. Because of this we are heading in the same direction as in 1971.
Once again the enemy is trying to break Pakistan up by adding fuel to the fire, as once again we are disunited. We ourselves are providing the enemy with ground to carry out its mischievous activities. Please, can’t we all learn from history? What we desperately need is unity and justice.

Traffic
This letter is to inform people about the traffic situation in Rawalpindi. The number of vehicles in the city is increasing rapidly and the roads are quite narrow. There seems to be no planning whatsoever, of any kind concerning the widening of the roads and the number of vehicles being sold.
I want to request the government to carry out a survey and find out the capacity of the roads as well as the number of vehicles present in the city. The number of cars and the capacity of roads should be proportional, which unfortunately is not the case. This situation can be controlled only if the number of vehicles is controlled by putting an upper limit on the cars one owns.

Need a change
Do we ever think about buying and giving priority to things which are produced locally? Whenever we go out for shopping, we ask for imported items. Shopkeepers sell their items by saying that they are from India, Dubai, China, etc. Today, this has become so common that girls are buying items with names of Indian soap opera characters: e.g. kumkum sarees and kashish earrings. Do we ever bother to ask for Sania Saeed earrings or items which relate with other actors in Pakistan? If we ourselves don’t buy our own things, then why would others give them any importance? I think we should realise, that buying products made in our country would indirectly benefit us. Pakistan has a lot of scope for talent and the merchandise produced by its people are no less compared to other countries. The only thing we can do is, give it a chance.
