Underworld, the vampire-werewolf hit, was hailed a good success, thanks to some brutal scenes and swift bloody biting. Underworld Evolution just matches its predecessor in this regard. But this time much thought was given to the storyline so as to arouse the viewers’ curiosity for the third episode and to keep them waiting.

The first few minutes trace the history of the feud between the aristocratic “Death Dealers” (vampires) and the barbaric Lycans (werewolves). So in case, if you have missed the first part, you won’t be completely left out of the action.

The seductive Selene (Kate Beckinsale) continues her quest to find truth about their clan, aided with the Lycan hybrid Michael (Scott Speedman) but soon they are face to face with the king of the vampires and his twin brother, the first werewolf.

Some of the duel scenes are better picturised than the old one, more vicious and thus more enthralling. Beckinsale looks stunning in her tight leather outfit and even though her acting is not inspiring, she definitely cashes on her already built image.

If you liked Underworld then there’s no reason you won’t like this ‘evolution’ but it’s more like seeing the first once again.
