Life is a canvas, we have the choice to add colours in our day to day life but at times we become helpless and can’t do so by our own wish. We usually tend to flow with the stream; and follow the world. We don’t care for inner satisfaction which is very important in one’s life. So how can one attain satisfaction in life? ‘Happiness comes from money’ is a popular cliché but the question arises: is money the only thing that is important. Today we’ll discuss the many ways that help create happiness in life.
Pray
Although we all pray yet sometimes we are unable to do so due to the pressure of work or some other reason. By praying we perform a very important duty. Secondly the few minutes we spare to offer prayers takes away the stress of work from us. It refreshes our mind and relaxes us. Praying can also be seen as an exercise that re-energises our body.
Follow rules
Try to abide laws regardless of whether they are religious or man-made. Abiding laws keeps us safe from many problems and help make our lives hassle free. One small example is when people follows traffic rules they remain safe from accidents. I needn’t say what happens to people who break traffic signals.
Control anger
Becoming angry is easy, but to overcome anger is difficult. When you realise you are about to lose your temper count to ten; it just might help you control your anger. Always think before you express anger, maybe the person on whom you’re losing your temper isn’t really the person at fault. Would you like to just blow up on someone who isn’t really at fault? Maybe the person is not as powerful; would you like to hurt someone just because they cannot stand up to you and fight back? Angry still? Sit back and take a glass of water; maybe your anger will subside.
Honesty
“Honesty is the best policy,” you must have heard of this before and this is one way to lead a hassle free life. Honesty is the best policy and will help you lead a stress free, happy and healthy life. You won’t have to cover your tracks and you will find inner peace.
Power of positive thinking
Be positive don’t let ill feelings and negativity associated with any experience in your life dampen your spirits. Always remember that the way you think has a deep impact on your life. So think positive and move ahead.
Pursuing attainable goals
It’s good to have certain goals set in your life, but making sure that these goals are attainable is more important. A lot of dissatisfaction is found in the world today all because someone had set a goal that was not realistic. Frustration stems from such goals and people lose faith and interest in life.
Respecting parents
Parents are a blessing. We must respect our parents and obey them so that God may bless us. Again doing this we are sure to attain inner peace and security that is so rare to find.
Work diligently
Complete devotion and perfection is one thing that one must aim for when doing a task. Work taken seriously and done diligently can be seen by all. Your boss might not recognise your ability but your work is sure to speak for you.
Keep at it
“The idle mind is the devil’s workshop” is an old but very profound phrase. It emphasises the importance of keeping oneself occupied. Doing so will keep you involved and you will hardly ever get bored.
Going to bed
Before going to bed take a bath and have a glass of warm milk, it will energise and invigorate you. If you don’t want to sleep right away read a book or chat with family. Maybe you can just lie down and ponder the mistakes that you made in the past and resolve not to do the same again. You might also just think about what you’d like to do
the next day and make a schedule in your mind with the resolve to accomplish all that you thought you will.
