Marvel Comics released their first-ever animated movie Ultimate Avengers that features their six best superheroes in one adventure. Ultimate Avengers – The Movie begins in the dying days of World War II, where Captain America leads a group of US soldiers on an airdrop off the coast of Norway, where the Nazis (aliens in disguise) are rumoured to have a super-weapon. Although he saves the world from certain annihilation by detonating the nuclear missile in the upper atmosphere, Captain America ends up frozen into the icy depths of the North Atlantic.

In 2005, he is defrosted to life by S.H.I.E.L.D. (Strategic Hazard Intervention, Espionage and Logistics Directorate) for an attempted revival of the Super Soldier Programme that created Captain America during WWII. The Captain agrees to lead an elite force of superheroes against the very aliens who tried to destroy him once and plans to payback with the aid of Iron Man, the amazing Thor, the ravishing Black Widow, the tiny flying Wasp and her show-off husband, the 60 feet tall Giant Man.

The DVD is a bankable purchase, as Captain America and Co. combines their powers to save the world from villains in this 72-minute movie. It includes special features such as an “Avengers Assemble” Featurette (about the history of the Avengers comic books in 25 minutes), The Ultimate Voice Talent Search (about the fact why youngsters were not selected as voice-over artists), a First Look at the scheduled-for-a-release-later-this-year Ultimate Avengers II, and a Trailer Gallery. So watch out for this Ultimate Avengers movie and see marvellous characters avenge the aliens!
