BOOK: The seven habits of highly effective teenagers

By Sadaf Salahuddin

Sean Covey’s book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers is similar to the famous book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective people which was written by author’s father Stephen R. Covey.

This is the book, which will help you to find your way in life, how to build your self-confidence, to struggle and face problems in life, to achieve your goals, to build friendships, to resist peer pressures and lots more. Sean has tried to bring out seven habits of highly effective teenagers in a really humorous and successful manner. The book is divided into four parts: the setup, the private victory, the public victory, the renewal.

In these four parts seven habits are analyzed in an adroit way. For each habit, the writer has first discussed the causes and circumstances under which such habit arises and then has given solutions to overcome the habit. Various teenagers have shared their stories regarding each habit and their experiences and efforts in getting rid of problems.

The problems that are discussed are faced by almost every teenager, which will surely make you yell “Hi! This is the exact problem I am facing.” The good point about this book is that although the author is advising you, his humorous jokes, real life stories of teenagers, funny cartoons, and great quotations won’t let you feel that you are being advised by someone.

Whenever you are dejected, depressed, feeling lonely and apart from everyone, reading this book would certainly light a ray of hope in your life.
