‘Love’ a small four letter word has immense importance in our lives, but it has greatly been misused and abused. In the broader sense it means ‘warm affection, attachment, liking or fondness’. Now these feelings can be for anyone – for your parents, brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, etc. – but in the present times somehow the word love has become somewhat synonymous with the relationship between a girl and a boy.
Going into the details of why it is so would need a lot of time and space, so we will leave it for some later date, but for now let me remind you that it is a word that exudes warmth and affection for all beautiful relationships.
The best of these is the one between children and their mother. Tomorrow, on Mother’s Day, you will all tell your mothers how much you love them and give them presents to express your love. Though like all special days, Mother’s Day is celebrated once a year, the emotions expressed on this day should not be confined to that day alone. You should express your love for your mother the year-round.
It is so simple – you just have to give her a big hug and say “Mom, I love you,” and her day will brighten up. Even while you are away you can call or sms her from time to time to show you love her. Don’t wait for Mother’s Day to express your feelings; do it as often as you can.
Let’s all of us tell our mothers, “I love you, Mom”.
