A two day Information Technology Mela was held at Anu Bhai Park in Nazimabad last week. The IT Mela was organized by the Sindh Government to highlight the importance and awareness of Information Technology among the students and general public and to provide software gadgets and information at single platform.
The Mela was inaugurated by the Advisor to the Chief Minister for Information Technology, Environment and Alternate Energy, Muhammad Noman Saigol.
A large number of national and multi-national companies as well as computer institutes had set up their stalls to provide information on the courses it offered.
Students from different government schools, colleges, and universities attended the exhibition and showed keen interest in the display. Some multi-national companies distributed free software CDs amongst the visitors on the first day while computer related paraphernalia was available on sale at a price lower than that in the market.
Courses were offered at discounted rates if someone enrolled at an institute’s stall.
