Sky High is the story of an out-of-this world high school where parents are today’s superheroes with the students being groomed as tomorrow’s superheroes. And then there is Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano), son of the famous superhero duo of The Commander (Kurt Russell) and The Jetstream (Kelly Preston). The Strongholds are real estate brokers, Mr and Mrs Stronghold by the day, and superheroes when trouble calls, but their son is the only kid in Sky High who has no superpowers whatsoever.
The movie is about Will’s struggle with the fact that he is a normal human being unlike his super human parents. Add his relegation to a ‘sidekick’ instead of the ‘superhero’ category and you have got an ‘everyone’s story’. Supported by a team of sidekicks, Will’s best comes at a time when a villain from his parents’ past threatens his family, friends and the very existence of his high school. You’ll have to watch the film to see how!
Unlike the initial expectations where everyone thinks of this flick as a kiddy movie, Sky High is an entertainer for the whole family, be it people of six years or 60. Directed by Mike Mitchell, the flick has familiar struggles of high school life like settling in, making new friends, finding a date, coming across bullies, meeting unusual teachers and choosing between the right and wrong kind of friends!
