How to be famous?

By Sadaf Sallahuddin

Becoming famous is something that almost everybody dreams of. Fame means to seek attention or to be widely known, when you walk around a corner people look at you and talk about you. Being famous is basically to be prominent enough so that when you are sitting in a crowd you can be distinguished.

Everybody has different standard of being well-known. Some want to be famous only in their community, while others would like to be renowned nationally and internationally. So here are some tips for you that might lend a hand in becoming a notable personality.

Nerd
Those students who are highly studious in our schools are usually known to both teachers and students (great fame isn’t it?). So try out being a nerd. But that doesn’t mean you should start wearing thick glasses and reading books in the corridors. For that you really have to study hard and remain attentive in your class, which will help you to earn good grades and ultimately a great deal of fame.

Extra curricular activities
There are some people around us who get involved with everything. So in order to gain popularity in school, you can participate in extra curricular activities for instance sports, drama, elocution competitions, etc. Now you may work hard to succeed and gain fame or even if you don’t win a medal you would be know as someone who takes part in every activity. This will make them think that you are a very active student. People will say, “Look she is in this competition also, I wonder how she manages”.

Bullies
Be a bully. Snatch kids’ lunches. Copy your classmates’ essay. By doing this you will gain instant fame... oh, sorry not fame but notoriety. People will run away when you pass by. Some other bullies may also join you and then you will become a gang. Ultimately people will always remember you as a bully who taunts and teases everybody. But at least nobody will forget you.

Writer
For all creative minds out there, writing can also be a means of gaining fame. To be a good writer you have to read a lot but that doesn’t mean that you need to read to copy ideas but to improve your vocabulary. Once your article gets published then you would begin to feel like a great writer (even if you are not one) and you would enjoy writing. But bring original ideas. If you write only to get fame and copy others’ ideas then you will always have a guilty feeling inside you and if you are caught, you might be labelled a cheater.

Celebrity
If you want international acclaim, then enter the dazzling world of showbiz. But entrance to this world needs great effort and some contacts too and talent of course. When you are a star people will rush towards you to get autographs. This is real fame. But in spite of your hard work if you are not recognized by people then another tip for you. Start making scandals. Pick a fight with your co-star and you will be in the newspaper the very next day.

World records
Here is some pretty freaky advice for those who are desperate to get fame. Do something extraordinary like growing your nails or making the world’s largest chapatti, etc. In this way you can get your name entered in the Guinness Book of World Records. Beware! This method is not a piece of cake. Imagine your fingernails reaching down to your feet and your toe nails tearing through your shoes. However, going through all these troubles earn you a photograph in newspaper at least.

Criminal
Another way of achieving international acclaim is by becoming a dacoit or a killer. But then again you have to do something remarkable in your field. You can’t become famous with just ten to fifteen criminal acts, at least make a century. Then only will you be in the headlines. But do bear in mind that you have to be really good at hide and seek because after that all police forces will be after you. The ultimate result of this mode to fame is really awful. In case you are caught you will meet a bad end and if you are not then you can’t escape Judgment Day. So it leads to destruction in both ways.

It is hoped that the above-mentioned guidelines will help you become eminent but the foremost thing is that you should be well known for some good reason.

Fame is of no value if you are cursed by the people. Fame isn’t everything. One should not enter a certain field only for fame because unless the job is not done sincerely it doesn’t yield fruit. If you work sincerely then fame will follow you automatically rather than you chasing it.
