Dressed in a blue bell-bottom with a silver frill-sleeved top, I thought that it would only be me who would be the centre of attraction in the party!
My thoughts turned into reality when I entered Sarah’s (my best friend) house and every eye in the party was fixed on me. My friend, hurriedly came towards me and I wished her a Happy Birthday and handed over the gift in a stylish way. Sarah introduced me to her new friends who were attracted towards my personality from the very first second. In order to maintain this attitude of mine, I talked very less with Sarah’s friends (which made them more curious).
After about fifteen minutes, Sarah’s mother entered the dining hall carrying a big chocolate cake in her hand. Sarah, with a sweet smile, cut the cake and we all wished her together.
As soon as we were over with the cake and refreshment, it was time to dance. I sat in a corner with an aggressive smile on my face, until a drop-dead gorgeous guy walked up to me and requested me to dance with him. At first, I refused and told him that I didn’t want to, but when he insisted, I agreed and stood up, I walked with him to the centre of the dance floor, while the rest of the dancers stared at me.
I delicately, started dancing, but after some time I felt as if something was wrong with my shoe, as I was deep into the song (as it was one of my favourites) I just ignored it. But then after a second or two I realized that my big four inches heel was broken. It was too late and I fell down in front of the whole crowd. At that particular moment I felt as if that was the very last moment of my life. Every body looked at me mockingly and some of them even laughed. This enraged me, but I controlled myself.
The boy dancing with me, helped me to get up (hardly controlling his giggles). At that very moment I left the party my heart filled with anger and grief.
I can never forget this particular event in fact a nightmare, and whenever I recall the incident, I can’t prevent myself from laughing!
