I have two brothers and one sister. They all are elder to me. They don’t love me nor do they care for me. A few days ago, I and my sister quarrelled over an issue. From that day the three of them are not talking to me. Though just I and my sister were involved in that issue, they all are behaving rudely towards me. I wish I had no brothers and sisters so that my life could be much better. They are on one side and I am alone. I do their work too i.e. make tea for them and things like that. But they don’t love me. Help me, and please guide me what to do?
A Worried Person
Cheer up. You are going through the typical youngest sibling dilemma, and here, I really must tell you: life is not fair. But it’s not the end of the world. You see, no matter how much we deny it, the youngest sibling eventually does end up as the butt of the elder ones’ wrath, and so you are the perfect example. This does not, however, mean that your siblings don’t love you. It’s just hard luck that youare the youngest one of the four. So don’t complain about making tea or doing their chores because, trust me, it won’t work. The rules are simple: you are the youngest kid, so you’ve got to suck up to your elder siblings.
I’m not being cruel; I’m just stating a simple fact. This should not make you feel un-loved. It’s just that you are at an age where no matter how much you try, ugly fights are inevitable among siblings, and yes, they often do have cruel results, like the silent treatment you are going through. All you can do at this point is to do their small chores when they ask you to do it, and be patient when they tease you or if they are being mean. Don’t answer back; just ignore them and go watch TV or listen to music or something. Loosen up.
Please don’t whine about having siblings. You’ll understand their importance later in life.
Dear Super Sis
I am 14 years old girl I study in the ninth class. My handwriting is not good so I am always worried about it. I want to improve my writing because now I have to appear for board examination. Can you tell me how to improve my writing?
The best way to improve your handwriting is to start WRITING. Get into a habit of penning down at least one page daily. Fix a time of the day when you can sit down and just fill out one page of a notebook. You may copy off some pre-written text, or write anything else you want. Initially, take your time slowly improving the way you form your letters and words, and then, once your hand is settled, try increasing the speed of your writing.
If your handwriting is terrible to start off with, you may want to consult some script-improvement exercise books which actually make you trace out letters and words properly. Later on, you can switch to a regular notebook. Remember that what you need most is patience and persistence. Don’t miss out on your daily practice and you will see the results very soon. Good luck.
