Recipe: Yummy snacks

Pakoray


Ingredients:

1 cup gram flour (Baisan)
1 tsp salt or to taste
1/2 tsp red chilly powder or to taste
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tbsp coriander seeds (crushed)
1 onion small (chopped)
1 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)
4 green chilies (chopped)
Water as required
Oil as required for frying


Method:
Mix all the ingredients and make a smooth thick batter. Set aside for 15 minutes. Place the oil on medium heat until it is reasonably hot. Take spoonfuls of the batter and put it into the oil. Fry until golden-brown and then remove them. Serve with chutney or tomato ketchup.

 

Potato balls


Ingredients:

1/2 kg potato boiled and mashed
1 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp red chilly powder or to taste
1 tbsp coriander leaves chopped.


Batter:

1 cup gram flour (Baisan)
1/4 salt tsp or to taste
1/2 tsp red chilly powder
1/4 tsp baking powder
Water as required
Oil as required for frying


Method:
Mix salt, red chilly powder and coriander leaves with the mashed potatoes. Form little balls of the mixture. Make a thick batter of gram flour, salt chilly powder, baking powder and water and set a side for 10 minutes.

Heat oil on medium heat. Dip the potato balls in the batter and deep fry till golden brown. Serve these yummy potato balls with chutney.
