Hi kids,
The old lady was screaming and calling for help, and cursing the boys who had run away with her bag. On inquiry it was revealed that the bag contained money that she had acquired by selling the last few items of jewellery to pay for the treatment of her son, who was fighting for his life.
The lady said the boys appeared to belong to respectable families. Perhaps the teenagers who had committed the crime didn’t know how valuable the bag was for her. Maybe if they had known they wouldn’t have done such a deed. Perhaps they had done it just for the sheer excitement of it and to break the monotony of their boring lives or just to show how daring they were. But their pleasure and search for excitement had put somebody’s life in danger.
That is the reason that elders tell us to think before doing something. You should not forget that besides causing harm to others your actions could be a source of trouble for you as well. Don’t you think that the boys who ran away with the lady’s bag could have met with an accident if someone had tried to chase them? Or they could have been caught and handed over to the police. Just think how traumatic and embarrassing a situation it would have been for their parents!
Looking for fun, you are not supposed to cause trouble to others. It is your age to enjoy life, but always remember, that you should not cause harm to anyone.
Enjoy life but take care that it does not hurt you or anyone around you.
