Super Sis

Dear Super Sis,

I am an 18-year-old girl and I want to become a good painter. I can draw very well but I can’t paint sceneries and landscapes on canvas. I am also very fond of making sketches, but I can only make sketches when the object is in front of me, and not when the object is not in front of me. Is there any technique to overcome this?

A Future Artist

If you think you have an inclination towards arts and you put your heart in it I am sure through intense practice you can do it. You just have to use your imagination, train your mind to picture a thing and then try to draw it. The same technique can be used for painting sceneries and landscapes. You can also join an art school for some coaching and professional help.

But remember, everybody can’t do everything. Some people can paint very well but can’t draw. Don’t lose your heart if you are unable to do one thing. Try to excel in what you are able to do.

Dear Super Sis,

I am an 18-year-old boy doing my intermediate. There is a girl ‘S’ in my college whom I love very much, but I don’t have the guts to go to her and tell her about my feelings. Can you tell me how I can approach her? (Please tell me if there is any book like “100 ways of approaching a girl.”)

Libran in Love

To my knowledge, there is no such book and I think there is no hard and fast rule to approach a person and express your feelings. It all depends on the individuals concerned.

You have to use tact to express your feeling. You cannot just go and tell a person that you love her or be prepared for the reaction. First befriend her, get to know her likes and dislikes, her opinions specially on the matters of the heart and then find a suitable moment to open your heart in front of her.

But always remember she has every right to accept or reject you. She has a heart and mind of her own.
