Opinion Corner: Your worst fear!

Among many other fears that surround us, my worst fear is that of losing my friends. I can’t imagine living without them. Life would be so incomplete if we had no one to share our feelings with. Friends make us feel happy when we’re sad, and lift our spirits when we need some moral boosting. I think friends are God’s most precious gift to mankind.

There is a very funny quote about friends, i.e. “God gave us relatives but thank God we can choose our friends.” So simple enough if you want me to be unhappy — take away my friends!

Among lots of fears that surround us the worst fear is the education system in Pakistan. Nowadays the education system is getting bad to worse the private schools have made education so commercial and business like that it is difficult for people to afford it. Students who want to acquire good education are unable to do so due to these financial constraints.

Government schools are not providing good educational environment to their students. They also lack good education facilities.

Lizard..............eeeeehhhhhh somebody help me.

Yeah, the lizard is my worst fear since my birth and I guess till my death. I don’t know why this creature of Allah is bullying me (But my mom says they aren’t bullying me I’m bullying them). Whatever, but let me tell you I don’t fear huge creatures like the lion and other such beings but lizard. Oh God, no way can I bear that creature. Through these pages I request Dr Abdus Salam to please make some formula so that we can get rid of lizards.

Fear is the feeling of uneasiness or concern that causes one to panic. Fear that surrounds one individual depends largely upon that individual’s own state of mind. For instance, one student fear tests and assignments while the other might fear dacoits. We are always surrounded by fears of one kind or another.

There are some fears that are shared commonly by a society or nation. For example, a nation fear losing its identity as we face this fear now. In my opinion, it is the worst fear that surrounds us now. We are constantly surrendering to the onslaught by foreign cultures and values. We are readily adopting alien values. We don’t understand that as a nation we inherit some values that our ancestors possessed. This cultural confusion is taking us no where.

The greatest fear that I have ever really feared is captivity. I am scared even if I think of myself in such a position. Can you imagine a life without our own dear homeland? I cannot! It would be horrible to live and work as someone’s slave.

Working hard is good we should always strive for our goals. We are the proud citizens of a proud and wonderful country and I think we should be proud of it! We were born free and we should protect our dear homeland. A person who is captive cannot think, he has no value, no identity of his own, anything he does is not regarded as his work but his master’s work, he loses the ability to think and looks up to his master for his orders. So I think that we should strive and work hard and be honest so that we can lead Pakistan towards prosperity!

God has bestowed on us countless bounties but to maintain a stable balance, He has allocated human beings with some weaknesses. In fact, this is one of the empirical signs of God, his magnificence and superiority, for those who ponder.

Scientists have discovered many fears, such as Acrophobia (fear of heights), Hydrophobia (fear of water), Photophobia (fear of lights) and Phonophobia (excessive fear of sounds). But what haunts me the most is acrophobia. I fear heights and hence avoid visiting my relatives who live in high rise apartments. The fear of getting into lifts to reach top floors, not being able to visit various towers and buildings, sometimes agonizes me. I don’t know what troubles me but there is an element of nature behind this. The fact is that being blessed with so many capabilities, this is not even a minor concern of mine. I always thank God and I am deeply indebted to him for being better off than so many people.
