Agent Cody Banks is a formulaic movie that has a kid trying to imitate the debonair ways of the dashing agent 007: James Bond. The movie stars Frankie Muniz as Cody Banks, who might superficially seem as a typical teenager with a fascination for skateboarding, a detestation for studies and feels extremely bashful around girls. But there is more to him than meets the eye. Unbeknownst to his family and friends, he has received secret training from the CIA through a secret teen training programme. He is sent by the CIA on a mission to pose as a student and develop friendship with Natalie Connors (Hilary Duff); the daughter of a scientist whose inventions might destroy the world if they end up in the wrong hands. Agent Cody Banks can recklessly drive cool high-speed cars and thrash the nerve-racking school bullies with action moves that would make James Bond proud. In short he is a suave agent but he simply can’t get over his gracelessness as far as girls are concerned and this really irks the top brass at the CIA. Meanwhile Cody realizes that the mission has morphed into something personal. He has fallen for Natalie’s bubbly charms and she eventually begins to like him as well. In the meantime, the bad guys kidnap Natalie and Cody must decide if he wants to jeopardize his life for her.
The movie boasts of a plethora of excessively nifty and cool gadgets that Agent Cody Banks gets to use. Frankie Muniz proves that he has got the potential for bigger projects in the future. All in all, this is a highly entertaining movie for the kids. The swift acting and action sequences wont let you get bored for a second!
