Briefs: Celine Dion, set for a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame
LOS ANGELES: Grammy and Oscar-winning pop star Celine Dion will have her own star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame Tuesday. The Canadian songstress, 35, flew from Las Vegas for a ceremony outside the fabled Kodak Theatre. She was to have been honored with the star in March but the event was postponed due to the war in Iraq.
Dion, who hails from a humble home in rural Quebec, rose to international stardom and has chalked up more than 155 millions of album sales.
Last year she began a long-term contract at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas where she is to put on her show “A New Day” through 2006, five days a week.—AFP
