Super Sis

Dear Super Sis,

I do know the importance of self-confidence but I don’t know how to build self-confidence in myself. I feel really uncomfortable talking to anyone who in my opinion is more capable than I am or someone who has proved to be too good.

I feel that I won’t get a chance to do anything good and be satisfied with myself. Please tell me what to do?

Sad Libra

Self-confidence comes with exposure, experience and success. You can gain these by interacting with different people and dealing with various situations.

The most important element in any relationship is the human factor. When you meet people, don’t compare yourself with them. Enjoy everyone’s company and treat them as if they are your equal.

At the same time, learn from these interactions. If you meet someone who has not made it, you can ascertain the causes and try to avoid making the same mistakes in your own life. When you meet successful people, use them as models to inspire you to develop and make the most of your own talents.

If you stick to people you are comfortable with, and avoid those who make you feel less confident, you will be stuck in a rut and not be able to grow. Don’t be dissatisfied, use it as an experience to learn and grow.
