Miscellanea: Christmas Eve show

The show started around 9:00 pm with the guard of honour by the scouts presented for the father of the local church. The show began with a prayer said by the priest. Soon after it was the tableau performed on the humd Wohi tu Khuda hai by Nusrat Fateh Ali presented by sweet little kids. Basically the story was about how Christianity came into being and how Hazarat Yosuf and Hazarat Marriam lived there lives.

The stage was fantastically decorated according to the scenes. In the play there were talented young kids and teenagers. The Crowd was fully enjoying the show as the drama was very interesting. The show was organized very well as the security was good too. Around 11:30 pm the drama ended. Then it was the turn for the carol singers. All in all it was a good Christmas Eve show.

 

100th anniversary of aviation

To mark the 100th anniversary of aviation at Lahore base (old airport) Pakistan Air Force (PAF) organized an ultralight aircraft and aero-modelling show. The week celebrated to recall he Wright Brother’s first powered plane flight, that took off on December 17, 1903 in North Carolina and in the air which lasted only for 12 seconds.

Number of aircraft models displayed included eight-seater Cessna 402 B Business liner, four-seater Cherokee Warrior, two- seater Cessna 152 and flight star AP-ZAM, while three aero-modelling clubs presented aero-modelling by remote control aircraft.

To disseminate knowledge and educate the masses about the Aviation Industry progress during the last 100 years PAF showed documentaries.

People from all walks of life participated, children were specially awe-struck by the remote control aircraft’s aero-modelling. Large numbers of students from various schools and colleges visited PAF Base and participated in the quiz show organized by PAF.

The chief guest Air Vice-Marshall Khalid Chaudhary accompanied by PAF Base Commander Air Commodore Nadeem Anjum distributed calenders, souvenirs and aircraft models. Try-rides ere given free to 50 winners. School and college students also presented national ongs.
