Briefs: BCCT collecting rare books


KARACHI: Bureau of Composition, Compilation and Trans-lation (BCCT) of the University of Karachi has started collecting the copies of the rare historical and research printed books present in the world-renowned libraries.

A statement on Tuesday said that every week a copy of rare book is obtained for the BCCT library so that the intellectuals, researchers and book lovers could exploit to greater extent..

The BCCT library remains open between 9:30am to 9:30pm for the general public.— APP

 

Four climbers die on Mt Cook


WELLINGTON: Four climbers believed to be foreigners were found dead on Mount Cook, New Zealand’s highest peak, on Wednesday, police said.

The four climbers were found by a local guide on the mountain. The weather around the 3,754-metre mountain was reported to be clear and sunny.

“The climbers had not been reported missing. There is no indication yet if they were caught in an ice fall or avalanche,” New Zealand police said in a statement. — Reuters
