Poet's Corner

Happy birthday

Today is 25th of November
And I want to say
It is one of the happiest days of the year
As today is my birthday.
I’ll get lots of presents
I’ll cut a chocolate cake
But on one condition
Only if my momma bakes.
My birthday wish is good health and long life
of my father and mother
And also of my
ever loving sister and brother.
But for the next 24 hours
I know what they’ll do
They are all going to sing me th song
Happy Birthday to you

When heart bleeds

Have you seen their faces?
Have you looked in their eyes?
Have you felt their hunger?
Have you heard their cries?
Do you even understand
Whats it like
To be left out alone
In those dark gloomy nights?
Have you ever shared their sorrow?
Have you ever even tried?
Have you ever shared their tears?
Or tried to give them a better life?
Can’t you see
when the heart bleeds
Of a child?
The world cries
Can’t you hear the painful cries
Of a child?
When wars arise
Can you bare the pain that they
feel day and night?
Can you stand the loneliness
That suffocates the inside?
Have you even tried?
To understand why
They have been treated so badly
That they have lost the strength to cry
Their innocence has been stripped away
Their emotions have been ripped and torn
They think that its normal
To live in pain and fear
Can’t you see when the heart bleeds
Of a child?
The world cries
Can’t you hear
The painful cries
Of a child
When wars arise?

The big apple tree

In the village of old Mr Lee.
There stood a very big apple tree.
All the villagers were happy with it.
For there were juicy apples which they used to get.
But one strange day.
During the hot weather of May.
A rich man from the country came.
And Mr McCoy was his name.
He asked Mr Lee.
If he could cut down the apple tree.
But Mr Lee shook his head in two rounds.
Even when Mr McCoy offered him a hundred pounds.
Mr McCoy would do anything to cut that tree.
Except for making Mr Lee agree.
Soon he got tired and cross.
And it was time for him to show who the boss was.
He ordered his men to cut the apple tree.
Without taking permission from Mr Lee.
For he wanted to boss around.
Men who are bossy like him are mostly found.
As the men began to head for that tree.
“You all will survive”, said Mr Lee.
For what shall the children play with?
From where shall they eat the apples which they used to get?
Mr McCoy began to feel guilty for what he had done.
And it wasn’t long before he had gone.
All the villagers cheered and so did Mr Lee.
The big old apple tree was saved, finally!

Eid

Eid is a beautiful day
A day so bright and gay
Everyone will smile and say “
Have a happy eid day!”
Everyone will eat sweets
They’ll wear clothes so neat
Everyone will greet each other
And give gifts to brothers and sisters
Eid is a happy day
A day to enjoy and pray.

To Shah Latif

Today my tears are flowing
For thee, for thee!
Yet in my soul is growing
A boundless ecstasy!
The song of thee whose every note
is bound to harmony divine.
That makes the world with luster shine.
Destroying every gloom
And rearing a rare bloom
The bloom of ‘truth’ and ‘beauty’.
That bringeth ‘bliss that hath no ending.
That makes the earth and heaven one’
A consummation that no bard hath done.
For you did point where mankind’s suffering lay.
And with your poetic breath you blew away
‘Un reality ’ and let man see.
Divine eyes of ‘Eternity’.

Friend

A friend is some one, who comes in your life
Who shares your tears and joy
Who helps you out,
Solve your problems
Someone to play or dance,
Someone to fight and teach you right
Just because of friend,
You are successful!
Don’t forget them!
Make new friends,
But don’t forget old,
Because old is gold
And new is sliver.
