MUSIC: Birds of pray

By Nabeel A. Farooquii

‘Live’ tops the charts again with their new spiritual melodic single release Heaven. The number is from their fifth hit album Birds of Pray. The hoard includes a lot of big alt-rock kind of upbeat numbers Live had never played before and now the band is totally charged which really connects you to the sound. Live members include Chad Taylor (guitar), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass), Chad Gracey (drums) and Ed Kowalczyk (vocals).

Birds of Pray seems like a big bunch of real moving and thought provoking numbers that you can’t help talking and thinking about. It starts off with Heaven, one of the featured numbers of the album, substantially thought-provoking and played with balanced strength. Then comes She and Like I Do which are fast, true alt-rock and played well. The Sanctity of Dreams, Sweet Release, Run Away and Life Marches On are some great numbers of the album that attract your attention quickly. The band seems more focused on drum lines and lyrics this time than their previous The Distance to Here that is way too moving if you cut the post-Nirvana alternative music scene some slack. Numbers like Light House, River Town, Out to Dry, Bring the People Together and What are we Fighting For? are their offbeat phase which has the potential to attract you to the melody.

Furthermore, the band is on the way to success and the style of random music genre is one of their qualities, if you believe me. Highly Recommended!
