Young World

November 1, 2003

Hi Kids!

Another week has gone by and another issue of Young World is in your hands. Days, weeks, months and years pass by but the routine of bringing out a fresh issue on our part and reading and enjoying it on you part seems to remain the same. Yet it is not at all monotonous. Each issue is different from the other — we make sure to provide you something new every week. At the same time new readers are added to our vast readership, while some old readers grow up and thinking that they are no longer kids or even teenagers stop reading the magazine, some get so busy in their life that despite great urge they can’t find the time to read it.

This is life. It keeps on changing. The fact is that if things stop changing, life would become monotonous and boring. There are some people who do not like change. They want to keep things the same way as they were years, rather decades ago. (Just imagine if we were like that you wouldn’t have Young World today!) But this is not a good idea. You have to accept change with open arms; rather make an effort to bring about a change in your circumstances. People complain that they are oppressed, under-developed and downtrodden, but they never make an effort to change their lot. A person would complain that he can’t make both ends meet in his ancestral trade (whatever it might be) yet would resist if his son wants to pick up a career in some other field which he thinks would improve his life.

It’s like insisting on travelling on bullock cart when there are fast driven cars all around, or preferring to send a letter through post when you have an email (if you don’t have access to Internet that is another point).

You love to understand that it is you who can change your life and your destiny; no one is going to give you a better life on a platter, no matter how hard you complain. Just as you have to work hard to get good grades in exams, because you know that the teacher would not give you any extra marks just for the fun of it.
Get up and get busy to make an impact and stop complaining.
Have a nice weekend!
Bye!
Ed
