Recipe: Sehri Specials

Dear kids. A s you all know during the Holy month of Ramazan, people make special dishes for both Sehri and Iftar. Here are a few quick and simple Sehri dishes which you can prepare for yourself and which will give you the energy and the nutrition that you need during a fast.

French toast


Ingredients

1 egg,
1/2 cup milk,
3 tsps sugar, few bread slices,
oil for frying,


Method
Beat the egg, sugar and milk together in a dish. Heat oil in the frying pan. Dip the bread slices in the mixture and fry.

 

Egg toast


Ingredients

1 egg salt and black pepper to taste few bread slices oil for frying
 


Method
Beat the egg and add salt and pepper to it. Heat oil in the frying pan. Dip the bread slices in the mixture and fry.

 

Egg pudding


Ingredients

1 egg
1 cup milk
3 tsps sugar


Method
Boil water in a large pot (degchi). Blend all the ingredients in a blender. Take a steel plate or a dish which fits firmly on top of the degchi. Cover it with a lid and cook until it is stiff. You may check by inserting a tooth pick in the pudding. If it comes out clean it means that your pudding is ready.

 

Fried sandwiches


Ingredients

Some bread slices,
1 egg Oil for frying
Mayonnaise or butter
Chicken (boiled and shredded) or potatoes (boiled and mashed) for filling


Method
Add mayonnaise or butter to the chicken or potato (whatever you are using for filling). Apply some ketchup on the bread slices. Spread the filling on them. Beat the egg and dip the sandwiches in it. Heat oil in a frying pan and fry these sandwiches. To save time, prepare the fillings before hand. You may also try different shapes like triangular, rectangular and even round shaped sandwiches.

 

Date milkshake


Ingredients

6 dates
2 glasses of milk sugar, according to taste


Method
Deseed the dates and blend all the ingredients in a blender and serve.
